Industry Moves: Turner’s Kevin Cohen Leaves To Launch Company With Father, Former Sen. Bill Cohen

By Staci D. Kramer - Fri 28 Mar 2008 12:02 PM PST

Kevin Cohen, the go-to guy for digital at Turner Broadcasting long before most of the execs there realized it mattered, is leaving to launch a new company with his father, former U.S. Sen. William S. Cohen. In a note today, Kevin Cohen said DoubleMan Media, LLC, “will focus on providing accelerated cross-platform growth to young new media companies.” He also said it is the first of several new ventures.

William Cohen, who was secretary of defense under President Bill Clinton, is chairman; he serves on the CBS (NYSE: CBS) board and as chairman of The Cohen Group. Kevin Cohen is president and CEO; among other posts, he was SVP-business development, Turner’s first GM for interactive/enhanced TV and, most recently, SVP of strategic planning. (More on their bios here.)

Kevin Cohen is the latest early adapter to leave Turner. David Rudolph left last fall.
