Industry Moves: Lee; Scripps; Cablevision

-- Lee Enterprises: Suzanna Frank has been promoted to VP-audience from director-research and marketing; she will be overseeing circulation and readership growth efforts and help build larger online audiences while continuing to support the sales and marketing team. Frank’s responsibilities include those previously held by Nancy L. Green who has been serving as VP-circulation and publisher of The Courier. Green has been appointed VP-circulation for Lee St. Louis and president of STL Distribution Services. Prior to joining Lee, Frank served as interim publisher of Davenport’s Quad-City Times in 2005. -- Scripps: Scripps (NYSE: SSP) today announced three VP promotions: Freddy James has joined HGTV.com as VP and site director, Andy Singer will take on James’ previous post as VP-programming for DIY Network and Laura Sillars has been promoted to Singer’s previous position as VP-original programming. Prior to joining HGTV as director of original programming in 2004, Sillars was a producer for Harpo Productions’ Oprah Winfrey Show. Before Singer joined Scripps in 2005 he was a show producer for VH1.

-- Cablevision: Executive vice president Patricia Gottesman has left Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC), after a 28-year career, according to Multichannel News. Gottesman was EVP of product management until a year ago, and reportedly told colleagues she would be working elsewhere by May. The company has not yet announced her replacement.

    Scripps must pay a lot of cash to get people to work at such a backward place. Yikes!
