Industry Moves Roundup: ABC News; Scripps; AccuWeather; PeopleJam

-- ABC News: A rash of changes at ABC News, including the promotion of Dave Davis to the new post of EVP-ABC News from his current role as president and GM of ABC flagship WABC. At the same time, Paul Slavin moves to the new post of SVP-digital, reporting to ABC News president David Westin but with a dotted line to Albert Chang, EVP-digital media for the Disney (NYSE: DIS)/ABC Television Groups; he will oversee digital business development, marketing, and operations. Slavin has been responsible for worldwide newsgathering. TV Week has the details.
-- Scripps (NYSE: SSP): Adam Symson has been promoted to the new post of VP-interactive, for the company’s Television Station Group. Symson, who’s been with Scripps since 2002, is charged with helping the company’s 10 TV stations generate online revenue, coming up with interactive sales strategies, and create online communities. Symson also will produce new web and wireless products across Scripps’ various online properties. Release
-- AccuWeather: Barry Lee Myers, AccuWeather’s EVP and general counsel, has been named CEO. In addition to the forecast data that it supplies to local news stations, AccuWeather also provides information to online, mobile, IPTV and print media outlets. In his new role, Myers will take direct charge of the company’s online and mobile initiatives, as well as the Local AccuWeather Channel on digital cable. Release
-- PeopleJam: Social net/video site PeopleJam has added three new executives to its senior management. Larry Martine, former SVP of online marketing at troubled subprime mortgage lender Countrywide Home Loans, has been named VP-marketing; Jonathan Schreiber, previously president and CEO of mobile software developer Xingtone, has taken on the post of VP of business development; and Bruce Ettinger has been appointed VP of operations and strategy. He most recently was CEO and founder of online coupon site Save.com.
