Industry Moves: Channel M; Facebook; NetShelter; Grey Global

-- Channel M: Peter Lee has been appointed CTO and chief strategy officer, focusing on building out the company’s digital distribution network. He joins from the Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) Company’s Corporate Strategy, Planning and Technology Group where he was VP of business development new technology. Prior to working with Disney, Lee was president and CEO of Lucent Technology’s GeoVideo Networks.

-- Facebook: Elliot Schrage has left his post as VP of global communications and public affairs at Google (NSDQ: GOOG) to join Facebook as its VP of communications and public policy, reports Kara Swisher at AllThingsD. Schrage will report to COO Sheryl Sandberg, another former Google exec. Schrage joins other ex-Googlers at the social networking site, including director of platform product marketing Ben Ling and business development director Ethan Beard.

-- NetShelter Technology Media: Media veteran Patrick Houston has been tapped for the new position of SVP of media and chief publisher. Most recently, Houston was VP of content and programming at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), having joined the company in 2005 as GM and was previously editor-in-chief at CNET (NSDQ: CNET). Release.

-- Grey Global: The WPP ad shop has hired Don McKinney to the new post of executive creative director, director of digital development. McKinney was previously at Seattle-based shop Cole & Weber United, where he was a partner. Prior to that, McKinney was an executive at Omnicom Group’s Tequila interactive, the digital arm of agency TBWAChiatDay. Release.
