Industry Moves: Turner Broadcasting; MTVN; Last.fm; Capitol Music; Motionbox

-- Turner Broadcasting has merged the digital ad-sales units for animation, entertainment and sports into one operation and hired Walker Jacobs to run it. Jacobs was SVP of the Reuters Americas Media Group prior to this. The operation encompasses TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Court TV, GameTap, Super Deluxe and Turner Sports.
-- Motionbox, the online video sharing/editing service, has appointed Shoshana Zilberberg-Winter as CMO and Chris Brown as VP of Engineering. Shoshana was co-founder of sixdegrees.com, the “original” social networking site, then as SVP Marketing at Audible.com...she most recently served as CMO at Shopwiki. Motionbox plans to expand into new premium services and retail products.
-- Syd Schwartz has been appointed SVP, Digital Strategy, Capitol Music Group, US. He will work closely with parent company EMI Music’s SVP of Digital, Lauren Berkowitz, and serve as a liaison with other EMI digital and label executives around the world. Schwartz most recently served as SVP, Digital Strategy at Virgin Records. He joined Virgin in 2002 as Vice President of New Media, following seven years in digital, sales and marketing posts at Wind-Up Records.
-- Greg Clayman, who was promoted to SVP of MTVN Mobile Media in December, has been promoted again: he is now EVP, Digital Distribution & Business Development. Also, Alice Kim, formerly VP of Carrier Relations and Wireless Distribution, has been promoted to SVP, Digital Distribution and Partner Relations. Jeremiah Zinn, formerly VPof Mobile Operations and Product Development, will now serve as SVP, Syndication & Operations.
-- Kevin Menard has been named SVP, U.S. Advertising Sales for Last.fm, acquired recently by CBS Corporation. As part of this newly created position, Menard will oversee all U.S. sales activities for the site, in addition to building its sales infrastructure and overall strategic direction. Menard was most recently VP, Business Development at Heavy.com.
