By Staci D. Kramer - Wed 06 Feb 2008 01:13 PM PST

Following on the heels of News Corp (NYSE: NWS). chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch’s latest confirmation of his hybrid digital strategy, Dow Jones is adding some exec power at the Wall Street Journal Digital Network. Effective immediately, Matt Goldberg is SVP-digital strategy and operations, responsible for operations across the network, including strategy and business development, finance, research and analytics, licensing, mobile, video and podcasting. He reports to Gordon McLeod, president of the network. Most recently, Goldberg was VP-franchise development and partnerships for DJ. He joined DJ in 2003.

We don’t usually go deep into resumes here but one interesting item—he was campaign officer for the Liberty Party of Australia.
