Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group fills a gap with the appointment of Thomas Gewecke as president of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution (WBDD). Gewecke, most recently EVP-global digital business for Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG Music Entertainment, will report to Kevin Tsujihara, the group’s president. His portfolio includes global responsibility for strategic growth initiatives around all of the group’s assets—driving development and execution of wireless, online, transactional VOD/PPV and electronic-sell-through; looking for new rev streams in through strategic partnerships and next gen distribution channels. Tsujihara had been acting as WBDD head since Simon Kenny left last spring; Kenny had been on the job a year.
