Discovery Communications (NSDQ: DISCA) has hired 24-year Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) veteran Kathleen Kayse as EVP of digital media sales. Kayse comes from AOL’s Platform-A organization where she was EVP of marketing solutions and led advertising sales and partnerships. Reporting to president of ad sales Joe Abruzzese, she will be responsible for generating ad revenue across Discovery’s multiple platforms and for leading digital ad sales strategies for the company’s web properties. (The 13 sites include web-only Howstuffworks.com, Treehugger.com and Petfinder.com.)

Yesterday Chris Schembri vacated his post as SVP-media planning and partnership at the Discovery Channel to become VP-media services at AT&T.
