Speaking of newspaper ad consortiums, Dan Finnegan, the primary architect at Yahoo-newspaper consortium who left Yahoo in summer last year, has now joined Benchmark Capital as an entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR), which mean that he is toying around with a new idea which Benchmark will fund, reports VentureBeat.
Finnegan will be working on something in online advertising...he told VB that he thinks there are large opportunities in vertical marketing algorithms for advertising. Finnegan joined Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) in April 2002 as EVP and GM of HotJobs after serving as president of Knight Ridder Digital.
