Industry Moves: BET Appoints Digital Head As COO; Denmark West Leaves MTVN To Head BET Digital

Some changes at BET, as MTV Networks’ digital team lost its second senior executive in a week (the first being Nicholas Lehman who jumped to IAC as COO of programming): Denmark West, the till now EVP and Chief of Operations at MTVN Digital, has left and joined the sister company BET as President of Digital Media. Both companies are part of Viacom. BET also named Scott Mills has been named President and COO...Mills was till recently CFO and President of Digital Media.

West will lead the company’s digital brands, including BET.com, BET Mobile, BET on Demand and BET’s digital download offerings, and will oversee the development and implementation of the company’s global digital strategy. More in the release. Mo word yet on who will replace West at MTVN, but the a spokesperson said they will soon announce it.
