High School Sports Social Net BeRecruited Gets Acquired By RVS Ventures

By David Kaplan - Mon 05 Nov 2007 12:12 PM PST

High School sports social net BeRecruited.com has been acquired by PE firm RVS Ventures. Financial terms were not disclosed. The investment company is headed by Raymond Sozzi and he will take the post of CEO of BeRecruited.

As we’ve noted with last month’s purchase of online athletic community Schedule Star by Gannett, (NYSE: GCI) this past year has seen increased investment and acquisition activity for these kinds of high school sports social nets.

To manage the day-to-day running of the company, former ESPN.com executive Jeff Cravens has been hired as president. The main focus of the site is to connect athletes looking for recruitment offers with college coaches and universities.  BeRecruited claims it has more than 125,000 registered student athletes with roughly 8,000 college coaches and more than 3,000 high school coaches.
