Games Media Properties Forms Giant Realm: Part Ad Network, Part Digital Entertainment Portal

By David Kaplan - Thu 29 Nov 2007 02:14 PM PST

Games Media Properties, previously a host of video game competitions, has started an online ad network and portal called Giant Realm. Games Media, which has received an unspecified amount of funding from the William Morris Agency and Edison Ventures, will house a dozen video game and digital entertainment-related sites within Giant Realm. The ad network has a dozen launch advertisers, including Delta Airlines and DeVry University. Giant Realm’s target demo is mainly young men from 16- to 34.

In addition to multiplayer games in general, Giant Realm’s sites will focus on e-sports, machinima, anime movies, and indie music. The company claims that the sites on its network - including GameRiot, SpawnPoint, Myndflame, and ModDb - attracted 5 million unique visitors last month. Release
