Fantasy Sports Ventures, the USA Today-backed online sports venture which has been rolling up (and investing in) sports and fantasy sites recently, has now bought something which had been rumored for being on the block for some time now: fantasy sports stats site BaseballHQ, for an undisclosed sum. WSJ puts the amount in seven figures, citing sources.

The NYC-based FSV has been trying to become a one-stop shop for marketers looking to reach the fantasy sports audiences, and is planning to buy at least one fantasy sites in each sports category...the Roanoke, Va.-based Baseball HQ, owned and run by Ron Shandler, a cult figure fantasy baseball circles, as WSJ describes it, is the eight such sites FSV has bought.
