Facebook On Verge Of Settling ConnectU Lawsuit: Report

By Joseph Weisenthal - Mon 07 Apr 2008 06:08 AM PST

Facebook is close to settling a lingering legal nuisance over its origin, reports Brad Stone at Bits. The company was sued by the founders of ConnectU, a Harvard-borne social net, who claimed that Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea for Facebook after having been hired to work on ConnectU. For its part, Facebook launched a countersuit claiming unfair business practices. Settlement terms have not been reported, though it stands to reason that it’s worth some amount of cash to Facebook to just make the issue go away.
