Earnings: Sohu.com Q4 Revs Jump 90 Percent; Income Up Almost 150 Percent; Games Soar

Chinese portal Sohu (NSDQ: SOHU) has announced Q4 revenue of $65.3 million, 90 percent more than the previous year’s $34.3 million. Net income soared by nearly 150 percent to $15 million ($.40 per share) from $6 million ($.17 per share). The company’s core ad-driven business grew 35 percent to $33.7 million, while its games business hit $23.9 million, from just $2.1 million in the year-ago period. On a sequential basis, revenue grew 27 percent and earnings jumped 56 percent. The games business nearly doubled from the previous quarter, with strong growth from its organically developed MMORPG Tian Long Ba Bu.
