Earnings: Shanda Revs Up 52 Percent; Income Up 22 Percent

Chinese internet firm Shanda (NSDQ: SNDA) has reported Q4 revenue of $97.8 million, up 51.8 percent year-on-year. Net income was up 21.8 percent to $40.1 million. A 59.4 percent rise in MMORPG revenue was a strong contributor to growth. Casual games revenue was up 11.7 percent. The company ended the quarter with 3.47 million paying MMORPG subscribers, up 12.7 percent in the quarter. The results surpassed previous estimates, pushing the stock up 7.07 percent after hours.
