CBS Creates Cross-Platform Ad Sales Unit

By David Kaplan - Mon 12 Feb 2007 09:05 AM PST

The CBS acronym department must have been working overtime on this one: the network is introducing its new cross-platform unit, RIOT, which stands for Radio, Internet, Outdoor and TV sales operations. The group brings together the network’s 147 radio stations, 39 TV stations, millions of billboards and local online sales. RIOT includes 62 radio station websites and 17 TV websites, which comprises all of CBS Interactive’s local sites, not the unit as a whole, a representative said. The other sites within CBS Interactive are devoted to particular network shows. Dodge Ram is the first advertiser to take part in the program, which includes a co-branded website on CBS SportsLine.com; users can play an interactive game as well as other promotional features. Over the course of one month, the network estimates that the combined CBS media will create 400 million new impressions on CBS SportsLine.com. Release
