Ask.com Backtracks on Woman Search Focus; Says Not Really

By Rafat Ali - Thu 06 Mar 2008 03:43 PM PST

Strange are the motivations of Ask: First it clearly states that it will now focus on its core audience of married women, and now it says that’s not necessarily going to happen to the extent previously reported. And Ask says an AAp story got it wrong, when everyone else including Reuters (NSDQ: RTRSY) and WSJ had the same report out of Ask. Sounds like a bit of backtracking to me...maybe Diller thought that wasn’t the best idea?
