Aegis Buys Brazil’s Top Digital Ad Agency

Global media buyer Aegis Group is buying Brazil’s largest digital ad shop AgenciaClick for $31.1 million in cash. The UK-based media company has also kicked in as many as 3.4 millions new shares of its stock over the next five years, Bloomberg reported. The acquisition is designed to build up Aegis’ Isobar digital-marketing services network. After the purchase, Isobar will be active in 34 of the world’s top 40 markets by broadband penetration. AgenciaClick was established in 1999 and has more than 280 employees; clients include Coca-Cola and Fiat Spa.

    It’s interesting to define markets by broadband penetration rahter than population or something.  I guess that’s a good compromise between just population (you don’t really follow the money) and all-western europe / US (you miss huge emerging markets).  I tried to http://www.google.com for that list but didn’t see it.
